Eunice Kasirye has been elected as new president of International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT)Uganda Chapter.
Kasirye will be deputised by Teta Stella.
The executive board that will serve for two years will mainly focus on gender mainstreaming in the Media and mentorship.
The out going president Sarah Nakibuka now serves as Secretary to IAWRT international Board therefore she wasn’t eligible to stand again.
Upon election, the new president said its time for a woman to reshape own position without being clastered into vulnerabilities.
“Mediocrity is not a choice, it is time for a woman to reshape own position without being clastered into vulnerabilities,”said Kasirye.
About IAWRT;
IAWRT is a professional association which opens its membership to women who are actively engaged in production and management of programs in the electronic media particularly in radio and television or in fields closely allied to broadcasting including internet publishing, video production, digital editing, animation, graphic design and a lay-out,script writing and camera works.
