Kabale municipality is set to plant ten thousand trees in the near future as one of the moves to make the municipality a tourism city.
“We shall plant 10,000 trees in this town to make it look beautiful. When the town looks beautiful, then tourists will attracted ” His worship Emmanuel Byamugisha Sentaro, the mayor kabale municipality was quoted saying.
He was on Friday launching a tree planting campaign in kabale town where he and his Council were joined by the the ambassador of Uganda in Rwanda, her excellency Oliver Wonekha. Wonekha said on the function that Kabale town is already clean that in the near future it would be smarter than Kigali.
“There is nothing big that makes Kigali a cleaner city. It’s just trees that make it look beautiful ” wonekha said.
On Friday, only 200 trees out of 10,000 were planted.
Kabale municipality a tourism city?
A month ago, Kabale municipality launched a plan, together with century bottling company to collect all plastics bottles and materials in a bid to make kabale town look cleaner. A kilogram of bottles as of today costs 240 shillings. As of today, the business (of selling plastic bottles) has attracted the population and the plastic garbage has seemingly reduced in town. When launching that campaign, he again reiterated his same campaign making kabale cleaner and beautiful for tourism.
Today, planting trees looks like the agenda of making Kabale a tourism city is in high gear.
