Mitooma Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Guma Nuwagaba Betikura has shocked the nation after throwing in the towel as a member of NRM to join opposition side Forum for Democratic Party (FDC).
Betikura opted to join the leading opposition party after losing to Naome Kibaaju in NRM primaries last week and has been immediately nominated as its flag bearer in the forth coming Sheema North by elections that will take place on 8th October this year.
Betikura said he was mistreated together with his supporters by the people of his fellow candidate miss Naome Kibaaju in the recently concluded NRM primary elections that took place on 13th September 2018 where he obtained the second position.
“I was heavily tortured together with my supporters by the hooligans of my fellow candidate Naome Kibaaju,” Nuwagaba said.
He added that he also notified security but didn’t respond.
“I appealed to police and other government officials in the office of the President and the security minister general Elly Tumwiine but i have never got anything like help,” He said.
