A man identified as Gerald Kayondo has on Monday morning survived being lynched by an angry mob in Nansana after hitting a taxi driver with a hoe on the head for scratching his Land Cruiser reg. no. UAM 617D.
It all started when Richard Seruga, a taxi driver accidentally scratched Kayondo’s car.
In retaliation, Kayondo went at the back of his car and picked a hoe which he used to hit the taxi driver’s head.
Kayondo’s action sparked fury among residents in the area thus attacking him. He was saved by police but the crowds decided to exhibit their anger on Kayondo’s car by burning it down.
Seruga was rushed to a nearby clinic while in critical condition.
