Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre and team captain Denis Onyango have addressed the media during the pre-match press conference at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Friday morning ahead of the TOTAL 2019 AFCON qualifier match against Tanzania today on Saturday.
Desabre noted that his players are well prepared and motivated.
He asserted that his players are well focused and ready for the game.
‘It is going to be a crucial game but our players are prepared and focused. My assistants and me have tested the abilities of our players since January and we have made our strategy to win the game. I want to put up some thing different with my philosophy. I respect our opponents but i promise we shall play to get the best results on Saturday. My players are well motivated and ready for the game’ said the Uganda Cranes Hhead coach Desabre.
Denis Onyango the captain of Cranes admitted that winning at Namboole is a routine and he is looking forward to the match.
‘Tomorrow’s match is vital to us. We know what to do. We are playing against our neighbours. It will not be an easy game against Tanzania. They are not weak and we shall put up our best performance to win. It is a routine to have wins at Namboole and I assure Ugandans that we shall play to win the match. Our opponents have some individuals who are good but football is about teamwork. Our players know how to handle special players like Samata. We have met special players before on the continent and we are a strong team. We managed to get a good result away in Cape Verde and we should be able to build on that away three points when we played Cape Verde. We shall fight for the three points tomorrow’ said Uganda Cranes Captain Onyango.
After the Pre-match Press conference the Cranes had their last training session in Namboole at 10:00am.
Uganda Cranes is leading Group L with 3 points ahead of Lesotho, Tanzania and Cape Verde.
In the same group, Lesotho will host Cape Verde in Maseru this weekend.
