Uganda shall join Germany in celebrating the world day of unity.
This was unveiled today by the Deputy Director education and social services Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Mr. Ambrose Atusoko in the KCCA boardroom while addressing the press as they unveiled the festival sponsors on board in what they termed as the Oktoberfest
In his remarks, Atusoko said that this event is intended to display Kampala as the most attractive city in Africa.
“We plan to make this the most colorful festival in Africa, thus displaying Kampala as the most beautiful city on the continent.”Noted Atusoko
He added that various activities shall be conducted in order to provide livelihood of the residents of Kampala which will enable them boost their understanding as well as boosting of business
Mark Kaheru, the event chief organizer said that the activities shall attempt to reflect the friendship and strong cultural and economic partnerships between Germany and Uganda, an aspect that is captured by the presence of two German food vendors and the DJ music line-up that typifies the entertainment.
“The Oktoberfest is seen as the biggest beer, food and music festival in the nation’s capital, with activities that make it an excellent day out for the family and an evening for revelers.”Said Kaheru
He went ahead to explain that the lesson from last year’s event was a surprising shortage of beer, with beer running out as early as 8.30pm.
On this note Kaheru said that steps have been taken to ensure ample beer and food supply at the event.
The event is slated for 16th September to 23rd October at the Uganda Museum, marking 3rd of October which is the German day of unity.
The unveiled main sponsors of this year’s edition of Oktoberfest Kampala are Kampala Capital City Authority, Yokuku, Radio One, Stanbic Bank, Yo Kuku!, NUMIDA, Brussels Airlines, Tents4U, Brunch Salads, Pink Coconut Décor, JUMIA Party, Cloud Core, Play Motion, and Tusker Lite.
