The Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University (KIU) Dr Mohamed Mpezamihigo has warned fresh students to keep a keen eye on fraudsters that are roaming around the university and town at large.
Speaking this Mpezamihigo was addressing the press briefing that took place at the university main campus in Kansanga.
The Vice Chancellor said that there are many fraudsters who move around the university targeting the new entrants who are still green about university life.
“To the new students you must take good care of yourselves. There are so many fake guys moving around targeting to use the advantage of your not knowing much about university life and end up stealing from you,”Cautioned Dr. Mpezamihigo.
He added that as a university, they have put preventive measures like dressing their staff in university uniform as well as giving identification to their staff.
On this note, Mpezamihigo advised all new entrants to use only staff members that they find in offices who are fully dressed in university uniforms.
The VC after addressing the press moved around the university and officially opened the trade bazaar that enable students find cheap items without risking their money to fraudsters.
