Police in Katwe is holding a businessman for allegedly murdering his wife by shooting.
Musoke is said to have murdered his wife Agnes Birabwa almost a year ago in July 28, 2017.
He had since been hiding in Rakai where Police located him transfering him to Katwe Division Police to assist in further investigations especially in regards to the weapon that is suspected to have been used in committing the crime.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said a search was conducted at the home of the suspect in order to find any possible clues regarding ownership of the murder weapon.
He was arrested and transferred back to Kampala where the crime was committed from for further investigations and upon search at his home we were able to recover some documents in relations to the murder weapon, “ Owoyesigyire said.
Upon search at his home in Kawempe, detectives were able to recover licence documents of the pistol found in his possession confirming ownership since he had acquired it through the formal channels.
In a verbal confession from Katwe Police, Musoke admitted to having shot his wife but accidentally.
The suspect said the shooting was as a result of a scuffle with a group of youth the late wife had called in to be on standby as the both families met over their marital misunderstandings.
The suspect told Police that misunderstandings originated from the theft of 300 million by his late wife while he was abroad on a business trip to Egypt.
Upon his return from Egypt, Musoke discovered that all his bank accounts had been wiped clean and the wife couldn’t account for the missing monies.
Ever since he committed the crime, the suspect was advised by his close friends to go into hiding at his ancestral home in Kamengo, Rakai District.
Police has since recovered the old star pistol suspected to have been the murder weapon.
