After a week in military confinement following his arrest and subsequent charge of unlawful possession of firearms at the Military Court Martial, Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was on Thursday morning granted freedom after the State dropped charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition against him.
Unfortunately, after a few minutes Bobi Wine was re-arrested and arraigned before Gulu Magistrates Court where he was charged with treason.
He was charged alongside 33 others who were also arrested last week following the Arua campaign fracas.
The Grade One Magistrate Yunus Ndiwalana said treason is a capital offence in nature and that his court has no jurisdiction to handle the case.
Apparently, he has been remanded to Gulu prison until 30th August, 2018.
However, the judge ordered that Bobi Wine and other tortured suspects gets urgent medical treatment by their personal doctors.
