Buganda Kingdom has condemned the violence that occurred on the eve of Arua Municipality by election that saw a one Yasin Kawuma shot dead, Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake brutalized as well as arrested.
Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga said as a champion of constitutionalism and rule of law , the Kingdom condemns the use of violence to settle political score and use of torture, holding people incommunicado which is contrary to the constitution.
He has also urged the authorities to permit Bobi Wine and Zaake to access proper medical care to ensure that their illegally inflicted injuries do not get worse.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mayiga said the legal proceedings should be fair and transparent with the accused afforded all their non-derogable rights in accordance to the constitution.
