Over 20 rebel MPs belonging to main opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) have joined Democratic Party (DP) to support Kasiano Wadri (former FDC member) who is on an independent ticket for Arua Municipality parliamentary seat.
The Arua Municipality seat fell vacant following the murder of Ibrahim Abiriga who was the area MP.
The former Terego County MP recently announced that he would vie for the parliamentary seat on an independent ticket and he will face among others FDC’s Bruce Musema.
Following the differences within FDC party, a number of disgruntled members such as legislators Reagan Okumu, Paul Mwiru and Mugisha Muntu have decided to rally behind Wadri against Musema.
