Police in Kampala has recovered three motorcycles and arrested three suspects in connection with a motorbike theft syndicate.
The officers impounded three suspected stolen motor cycles in an ongoing crackdown on motorcycle theft in the city.
Those arrested are suspected to be part of a motorbike theft syndicate.
They are alleged to have been terrorizing boda boda operators in Kisenyi, Lubiri Ring Road and Musajjalumbwa.
The the operation code named Dumisha Usalaama will continue in order to apprehend other criminals associated with those who have already been arrested.
The suspects shall be arraigned in court after completion of the investigations.
The syndicate steals and dismantles motorcycles then sells their spare parts. This crime amounts to robbery with violence and its believed that some of the owners could have lost their lives during the incidents.
