The Uganda National U17 Team (The Cubs) has began residential training at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru ahead of the CAF U17 regional qualifiers in Tanzania.
Peter Onen is in charge of the team as the Head Coach assisted by Hamza Lutalo and goalkeeping coach Kiberu Mubarak.
The team convened for the preparations on Monday afternoon with 21 players while Rogers John (Onduparaka FC JT), Iddi Abdul Wahid (Onduparaka FC JT), Kenty Anthony (Onduparaka FC JT) and Muber Jimmy (St Primary Sch) will join the team on Tuesday 24th July.
FUFA Youth Football Development Manager Mutyaba Bashir confirmed the boys in the camp went through a mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test to verify their age.
The competition is set to start on 11th August and Uganda Cubs will play Ethiopia in their opener on 12thAugust.
One country will qualify from the CECAFA Region for AFCON U17 finals to be hosted by Tanzania.
