The Uganda national woodball team has finally set off for the world cup that is going to be in Thailand.
The team of experienced young men and women was flagged off yesterday by the Assistant General Secretary National council of Sports Mr David Katende at the MTN Arena Lugogo.
On the flag off, Katende advised the sportsmen to work hard in order to bring Gold to Uganda.
“In this game,Uganda is known for Gold. You people must maintain that” Said Katende.
The team goes with the two players from Kampala International University (KIU) Gwaka Brian and Nagaba Charity whose club had failed to rescue them with USD600 that was required to push them in terms of accommodation.
Zawedde Lillian is one star to be looked at since she is a player who has continuously brought gold to team Uganda.
In an interview with her,Zawedde promised to fight hard to maintain her image.
“I’ve been in this game for long and my face is known for Gold. Here am set to win more” Said Zawedde.
The federation president Paul Mark Kayongo said that the team has gone with new blood who are going to make Uganda proud.
