Police in Rukiga district is investigating circumstances that caused an accident which claimed the life of a 30 years old man.
The fatal accident involving motor vehicle registration number UAS 029Y Fuso white and motor car registration number UEE878M Bajaj red occurred at Bufureka on Sunday evening at about 7:30pm along Kabale Mbarara road.
One driver identified as Ahimbisibwe Palik, 30 died on spot.
According to police, the deceased is from muyebe, Buhara subcounty kabale district.
His body was rushed to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary.
Both cars were towed to muhanga police station pending inspection.
One driver escaped and he’s on run.
The Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly maate has confirmed the news, and called on drivers to always drive safely and responsibly.
This case has been registered at Rukiga police station under file number TAR 22/2018.
