His Highness the King of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II thanked the staff of CBS FM for their resilience and hard work through the good and bad times the famous Kingdom backed radio station has been through in its 22 years of existence.
This was revealed as he launched the station’s new state of the art studio and equipment that will enable it reach some distant parts of the Kingdom that they were not reachable in their old studio.
The function was held in the Bulange gardens with the new studios located on the upper floors of the recently refurbished Masengere building. The cream of Buganda Kingdom officials including Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga, his cabinet, members of the Buganda Lukiko and all clan heads were in attendance.
Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga told the Kabaka that the job he sent them to do has been achieved in building a radio station that will add value to the Kingdom’s people while the board Chairman Owekitibwa Kaaya Kavuma thanked the Kabaka for teaching them the values of unity and service on which they have built the station.
Many former employees including Wakiso Dustrict Chairman Matia Lwanga Bwanika, Hon. Peter Sematimba the first presenter to go on air on the 21st of June 1996 when the radio was launched and a number of other polticians like Moses Kasibante, Rubaga Mayor Joyce Sebugwawo and Buganda caucas head Hon. Muyanja Ssenyonga graced the occassion.
