Police in Kisoro District on Wednesday morning dispersed off students at Standard High School as they staged a strike against what they called ambiguous electoral process.
The students accused the school administration of rigging votes for one candidate thus announcing him Head Prefect yet they didn’t vote for him.
In anger, they vandalized the school property.
Police with the help of UPDF officers managed to contain the situation where they arrested 18 students.
The suspects are currently being held at Kisoro Police Station
Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly Maate says that investigations into the matter are underway.
