The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) through her country representative Boutroue Joel has called upon all international development patterns responsible for ensuring the safety and well being of refugees to increase on the funding which is becoming a big challenge to their developmental goals.
As he continued to deliver his remarks at the international refugee day at Nakivale settlement in Isingiro district , Boutroue says that refugees need utilities on a daily basis, infrastructure like schools and hospitals since refugees have a right to access good education and health services which are among the privileges Uganda offers to refugees.
With the theme Uganda supports the refugees, Boutroue expressed commitment over continued support for all refugees and appealed to all countries in the great lakes region to work towards ending conflict so as to reduce on the refugee influx.
According to United Nation, this year alone 68 million people have been displaced and Uganda alone receives half of that which saw the UNHCR country representative thanking the Ugandan government for its allegiance to fighting against the misappropriation of refugee funds though UNHCR with its headquarters Geneva are still investigating all fraudulent allegations against Uganda.
