The president for the Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) Hadijah Namanda has applauded the Under-17 national teams for putting up a fair performance.

Speaking this,Namanda was giving her closing remarks at Lugogo indoor stadium after five Countries taking part in the 3rd edition of the African Youth Volleyball championship.

The tournament acted as a qualifier for the Zone V championship that will take place in Algeria later on this year.

Namanda said that that the Ugandan boys and girls need enough playing time so that they can win favourably on the African Continent.

“Uganda getting a bronze proved to me that these young boys and girls can actually play better if they get enough tournaments.” Said Namanda.

She thanked the players for keeping the National flag high.

Egypt managed to win Gold medals for both boys and girls teams which gave them a chance to qualify for the Zone V.
Kenya went away with Silver and Bronze was taken by Uganda.
