Four people were on Wednesday arrested in Kisoro district by the officials from Allied Health Professionals’ Council headed by the Regional Supervisor Mr Nahanga Samuel.
The Operations were along the stretch of Kisoro municipality, Kyanika and Bunagana.
The arrested were operating drug shops and clinics illegally, and some of them were not qualified health workers which poses a health risk to innocent citizens. They were fined differently, and were ordered to pay the money through Stanbic bank as soon as possible and bring Bank receipts.
The arrested are as follows.
1-Kwizera Matthew, 56 (wearing a coat and eye glasses) is a retired officer but was found operating St Mathew drug shop in Mubuga trading centre fined 600, 000shillings.
2-Uwimana Tarasis, 43 is a graduate nurse and was operating Community Care drug shop (Clinic) on Chuho Street Kisoro municipality was operating without license and was fined 300, shillings.
3-Ahimbisibwe Sarah, 27 is nurse- and was running a Maziba drug shop Kisoro municipality and unqualified fined 600, 000 shillings.
4-Nsabimana Deo, 55 was running Charles drug shop in Mubuga trading centre and is unqualified to operate a drug shop. He was fined 600, 000 shillings.
All the four are in police custody at Kisoro police station.
The Kigezi police spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the news.
