Police in Kabale is investigating a case under which a 35 years old woman was murdered.
The deceased has been identified as Florence Tushemerirwe a resident of Kamuganguzi cell, Kaceerere ward, Katuna town council Kabale district.
It’s alleged that she was murdered by her brother in-law known as Andrew Sabiti.
She was cut with a sharp object on 22nd of May 2018 at around 8pm on her way from Katuna border.
According to the Kigezi region Police spokesperson Elly Maate, police was notified as soon as possible and her body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Maate adds that the suspect handed himself to Kabale police on Wednesday morning claiming the deceased practiced witchcraft on his family.
Inquiries are ongoing as to have suspect arraigned before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
The case has been registered at Kabale police station under file number CRB 1154/2018.
