Police in Katwe are holding one Kyosiimire Grace a female adult aged 30 years for faking her own kidnap.
Katwe Police station took action against one Kyosiimire Grace, unemployed, a resident of Makindye, Kampala District for demanding money by menace.
This occurred on 14/05/2018 when relatives of the said suspect started receiving messages from her(kyosiimire’s) phone number that she had been kidnapped & ransom money(four million) was needed to rescue her.
The brother to the Vitim/suspect one Ahimbisiibwe Robert m/a 35yrs, Businessman, resident of Rutukye Town Mitoma district, later received a message that she’d been killed so he came to Katwe and reported a kidnap case.
Katwe Homicide team on 17/05/2018 set a trap for kyosiimire after suspecting that she may have kidnapped herself. Indeed she agreed to meet her bestfriend one Tutegyerize Rose whom Katwe homicide team had already tracked and arrested. When the two met at Mega Standard Restaurant to go for pork, the Police officers who had already taken cover arrested her and took her to Katwe Police Station.
Indeed she was in possession of her phone meaning she’s the one who had been sending messages to her relatives. Upon interrogating her, Kyosiimire confessed that she had kidnapped herself to get money from her relatives to pay off her debts.
