Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) has lost a significant member to ruling party NRM.
Aciro Concy who was the Amuru district Woman MP from 2006 to 2011 is the one who defected to the yellow party on Saturday.
She went along with 19 other members from Olwal Parish in Amuru District.
In 2016 general elections, Aciro contested for Nwoya Woman Parliamentary seat but was heavily trounced by Adong Lilly, who is the current area MP.
Aciro is also a child soldier who was abducted by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army rebels in Northern Uganda.
She later managed to escape from the rebels and in 2007, Aciro graduated from the International Development Department of Birmigham University w8th an MSc in Poverty Reduction and Development Management.
After graduating, Aciro returned to Northern Uganda thus becoming a Member of Parliament.
Aciro was also involved in the national peace talks between government and LRA rebels to resolve the conflict.
Meanwhile, Sam Engola, the NRM party vice chairman for Northern Uganda welcomed Aciro and others, saying they made a right decision.
He told all other opposition Members willing to defect that NRM door is wide open.
