The Director of Sharia Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu has urged Muslims to look out for the moon during the evening of Tuesday 15th May 2018 because it will be the 29th day of the Islamic month of Shaban 1439AH.
He said this during a Press Conference held today at the UMSC Headquarters Old Kampala.
The Director said if the moon is sighted that evening, the month of Ramadhan will commence on Wednesday 16th May 2018.
“Failure to sight the moon on Tuesday May 15th means fasting the Holy Month of Ramadhan will automatically commence on Thursday 17th May 2018” the Director of Sharia said.
He said whoever sights the moon or is in possession of reliable information should pass it over to UMSC Headquarters Old Kampala on the following telephone numbers;

He urged Muslims to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan with happiness and wished them a happy month of Ramadhan.
