The Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Ghana 2018 has been officially launched paving way for the tournament scheduled for 17 November to 1 December 2018.
In attendance at the launch which took place in Accra on Friday (23 March 2018) was CAF Women’s Football Ambassador and First Lady of Liberia, Madam Clar Weah, Government officials amongst others.
The Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Freda Akosua Prempeh, in her speech assured the rest of the continent of a very good competition, adding “we are putting everything in place to ensure the tournament becomes a success”.
“This is the first time we as a country are hosting something like this for the Women’s game and we going to live up to expectation before, during and indeed after the competition.”
The slogan of the tournament is “We Can Do It”, with matches scheduled for the cities of Accra and Cape Coast at the Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium respectively.
The top three finishers at the tournament will represent Africa at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
