State house has refuted rumours making rounds on social media that Uganda’s president has reshuffled some ministers in his cabinet.
Senior presidential secretary Don Wanyama in a social media post on Wednesday afternoon said the reshuffle rumours were untrue.
“The claims of a cabinet reshuffle doing the rounds on social media are false. Please disregard them,” Wanyama said.
Words has been circulating that former Security minister Gen Henry Tumukunde has been appointed into the ICT docket replacing Frank Tumwebaze who had been moved to Trade and Industry. The same point alleged that Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde has been moved to Water and former police chief has been moved to Arusha in Tanzania to head the association of East African police force.
Following the news of Kayihura and Tumukunde replacement in their respective positions, there is a lot of speculation as regards the future of their roles in the government.
Many analysts cannot rule out a cabinet reshuffle in the near future as Museveni balances power centres in his government.
