New IGP Okoth Ochola has made his first changes in police, deploying several officers who had completed their courses at Bwebajja. Most of these officers have been appointed District Police Commanders.
Ochola is yet to be cleared by parliament although the national assembly has confirmed the president’s notification of the Speaker of his new appointments in police and security.
Ochola was appointed IGP on Sunday replacing his boss Gen Kale Kayihura who bowed out after 13 years on the job. Ochola is expected to sail through parliament owing to his experience and long service in the force.
The new appointments were announced by AIGP Balimwoyo M.M, an indication of Ochola’s work methods as a face the public will see less of as he pushes for various departments in the police to function.
