On Thursday President Yoweri Museveni while officiating at the 19th East African Heads of State Summit at Common Wealth Resort Munyonyo, he lashed out at government officials over poor organization and conditioning at the conference facility.
A seemingly irritated Museveni on taking the podium, used the moment to apologize to the attendees while launching a veiled attack at officials for what he termed as habitual inconveniencing of his guests.
“I’m very sorry about your suffering, I can see that you are all sweating, this is all thanks to the poor organization by the Ugandan groups,” lamented Museveni.
“They are always determined to inconvinience our visitors.. So they brought us in this Kafunda then they made sure the air conditioning is not working,” he added.
Well, now we understand why the president was very right to blame the organisers.
According to an inside source at the resort, the government officials booked a conference venue for 500 people which the resort provided for but went ahead to invite over 800 guests without notifying the facility managers for adjustments.
“We have first class hospitality, our facility is big enough to facilitate thousands of guests and we offer what you ask for,” source said.
