Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the appointment of Ali Mwebe as the Football Development Director.
The federation Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edgar Watson made the communication during the FUFA press conference on Wednesday, 14th February 2018.
He will be assisted by Bashir Mutyaba, who is also the FUFA Youth Football Development Officer.
Watson explained the new position replaces that of the FUFA Technical Director that has been previously occupied by Mr. Asuman Lubowa who requested to retire.
“Mr Asuman Lubowa communicated his decision to retire as the FUFA Technical Director after diligent 9 years of service.As of the FUFA Executive that convened on 8th February 2018, the Executive accepted his decision.,” said Mr. Watson.
He will remain as a coaching instructor and any other duties that he will be called upon to serve.
Mwebe, has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management at Leipzig University in Germany.
He is also a Sports science graduate from Kyambogo University and a CAF Beach Soccer Referees’ Instructor.
Meanwhile, Hajjati Aisha Nalule has been confirmed as the full FUFA Competitions Director.
Nalule has been acting FUFA Competitions Director in absence of Mwebe while in Germany.
