Barely months after leaving Kenya’s AFC Leopards, Uganda Cranes midfielder Keziron Kizito has been confirmed as the newest signing for Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Kerala Blasters.
Kizito was admitted to the side after impressing in a two-week trial period.
Kizito joins a team that has a number of world known footballers that include former Manchester United defender Wes Brown, former England first choice keeper David James who is a player/coach at the team and striker Dimitar Berbatov.
20 – year old Kizito’s signing was confirmed by former Manchester United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen.
“We needed a midfield player. We had long talks (with Keziron’s representatives) and now we are lucky to have the young midfielder. Keziron is a very young promising player. Very versatile and energetic,” Meulensteen as quoted by the Kenya’s portal Sportskeeda said of Kizito.
Kizito joined AFC Leopards in the June 2017 transfer window on a two-year contract from Ugandan side Vipers SC and has been part of the Kerala Blasters’ pre-season squad which trained at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain back in October.
The team whose official colours are blue and yellow play their home matches at the 75000 capacity Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. They are currently placed eighth on the ten team ISL table and host Pune City in their next clash.
