Just few days after the New Year eve, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met two sports fraternities. These included the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) and the Uganda Netball Federation.
What made big and small men shake is the question President Museveni posed to the football fraternity during the meeting.
“Where is the money that you collect from the gates?” to his dissapointment, he did not get an answer.
Edgar Watson Suubi, the Chief Executive Officer for FUFA was seen stammering after hearing the question as posed by the president.
President also asked whether there is a budget for cranes, technocrats in the ministry but the minister of sports Hon Bakabulindi was not aware of any budget.
All this was happening at the president’s home in Rwakitura where president met the two national team’s players and accorded them for representing Uganda well.
The president of Uganda Gen Kaguta Museveni said that all cranes team members who were born after NRM are all fit, healthy and talented.
He said the teams need stamina be focused and don’t get tired from running around this idea of stamina and skill is important the tactics come later.
It should be noted that FUFA is one of the bodies that collect a highest amount of money from the crowds when the national team is playing.
