Luwero based Ndejje university has taken the lead of first day of the Association of Uganda University Sports(AUUS) games 2017 with wood ball giving it the pace.
The games that kicked off this morning,threw Ndejje in the driving seat with gold medals from mixed and single doubles in the sport of wood ball.
This has served as a warning to the opponents that Ndejje University can still take this years games as spotted by the university sports Tutor and the president of the Uganda Wood ball Federation,Paul Mark Kayongo.
Kayongo thanked all universities that have endeavored to participate in this years edition that they have hosted.
“Am so grateful that this time round competition is going to be high. however am so eager to see who will be the lucky person of the tournament.” Kayongo noted.
Over 20 universities have taken a step to spend a full week at Ndejje competing in over 17 sports disciplines.
Mukova Joan,a wood baller was the first to swipe a gold medal for Ndejje after defeating KIU’s Katusiime Claire with the least number of strokes.
Ndejje now turgets KIU’s Gwaka Brian in men who took the gold from their Atamaba Onesmas in the 2017 beach wood ball sacked that took place at Lido beach Entebbe.
In football Ndejje lost to St Lawrence university in a 2:1 score that gave st Laurence an upper hand in soccer
meanwhile the big race for wood ball is between KIU and Ndejje university since these are the giants in the league
