Sports Club Villa Jogoo Salongo takes on long time arch rivals Express today on Friday, 24th November 2017 during the rescheduled Azam Uganda Premier league game at the treasured Masaka Recreational Stadium.
A lot is expected from the Jogoos whose recent form has left opponent quaking and planning ill moves.
Coming into the derby, Villa has performed well, better than the Red Eagles who have struggled throughout.
Head coach Wasswa Bbosa terms the big match as a matter and life.
“The number one wish is to work hard and beat Express in Masaka. There is no second alternative” Bbosa told the club website.
He will name a side that will give the Jogoos glory on the day. Simon Sserunkuma and John Adriko remain the non fully fit players following earlier injuries.
There is good news however after Nicholas Kasozi overcame a suspicious injury in the match against Onduparaka that the Jogoos won 1-0 courtesy of George Senkaaba’s strike on 67 minutes.
After the last training at Villa Park on Friday, all the players portrayed readiness to encounter the enemy.
Samson Kirya is believed to maintain the goalkeeping role with Samuel Kivumbi the understudy.
Ibrahim Kiyemba, Musa Mukasa, Henry Katongole and Bernard Muwanga will form the core of the defence line.
As usual Nicholas Kasozi, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Abel Eturude, Allan Kyambadde, Vitalis Tabu, George Senkaaba will be key in the offensive roles.
The other team players available for selection are Yubu Bogere, Joseph Nsubuga, Ambrose Kirya, Alex Kitata and Ramathan Dudu.
SC Villa Jogoo is third on the table standings with 22 points, same as second placed KCCA who had a better goal difference.
Police leads with 23 points from 13 games. Both KCCA and SC Villa have played 12 games apiece.
