After scoring the first hattrick of the 2017/2018 season as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) defeated Soana 4-0, striker Shaban Mohammad is yearning for more.
The reining FUFA Footballer Of The Year has now scored four goals in two outings for KCCA FC after his debut goal against Police in the 2-0 win at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
“I always dreamed of such a good start, am happy about my goals but that means I have to keep on working hard to score more,” said Shaban after Sunday’s training session in Lugogo, adding, “There is no time for resting, the more you get the hungrier you must be and am hungry, I am playing with teammates who are also hungry so together we want to achieve more,”
When asked about what might have led to his instant hit at the club, the 19 year old couldn’t look beyond fellow teammates.
“I play for a very good team with good players too, we are brothers, more like a family, so understanding each other on the field has not been that hard, and we continue to work hard everyday,”
With four goals, Shaban is joint club top scorer with Tito Okello in the league two behind league leading scorer, Hood Kaweesa of Police. Derrick Nsibambi is on three with Patrick Kaddu and Allan Kateregga on two.
As KCCA FC host Vipers on Tuesday at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo, Shaban and company will be hoping for a fourth straight league victory.
