Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) registered their best away win under manager Mike Mutebi with a 4-0 win against Soana in the Azam Uganda Premier League tie played at Kavumba Recreation Centre on Saturday.
Three of those goals were scored by striker Shaban Mohammad, the other came from Derrick Nsibambi on an evening Charles Lukwago kept his fifth cleansheet of the season, it was his third in a row.
Played on a slippery ground, the ball struggled to flow freely as Soana dominated most of the aerial battles.
It wasn’t going to be long though, with three minutes to the break, Shaban brushed home Kateregga’s long ball for the opener after a series of missed chances infront of goal.
KCCA had a good start to the second half, the ball moved freely and the orchestrators in Sadam Ibrahim Juma and Allan Kateregga also looked lively.
After 67 minutes, Derrick Nsibambi found Shaban in good a good shooting position, he picked him up with ease and the striker did no mistake as he doubled KCCA FC’s lead.
The two strikers had spent the evening trying to make sure their pairing pays off and the signs of better days ahead were also seen.
Nsibambi capitalized on another thorough ball by Sadam before making it three to put the result beyond reach for Soana with just 19 minutes left on the clock.
The league was yet to register a hattrick this season, Shaban ensured it happens with another through ball by Sadam picking the striker who shot past a hapless Soana keeper.
The win pushes KCCA FC to 19 points in the league and second on the log behind Police by just a point and with a game in hand.
KCCA FC has scored the most number of goals, 21 in total and conceded just 5, as focus turns to the next tie at home against Vipers on Tuesday November 21st, 2017 at the StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.
