Police Fleet Maintenance and Mechanical workshop has today re-embarked repairing and carrying out on spot check on regional fleets in North and North West Nile areas.
“We started with the western region , now we are here to make sure that our fleet are in stable working conditions,” said Suprentedant of Police Eng Atuhaire Allan the OC fleet mantainence and mechanical workshop at Uganda Police.
“We have been having a challenge of upcountry drivers traveling long distances to come to our headquarters for minor repairs and spare parts, something that has been wasting time ,now were are moving to the ground so as to solve all challenges in the field, adding that its cost effective and swift because we solve problems at regions instantly,” Atuhaire noted,
“Today alone we have managed to repair over 50 ,motorcycles , and 22 motor vehicles for both West Nile and North West Nile , so if this strategy continues am sure we shall have an effective service delivery to the public. ”
“At the end of the day , we are going to make a report about our personnel, fleet that is physically operating, its like a census ,then the report will be handed over to top management for decision making on how to transform the department.”
The beneficiary districts included pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Arua , maracha and Yumbe who all got their fleet repaired .
