Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) sent a perfect signal to whoever was writing them off the 2017/2018 season title with a resounding 6-0 win over Masavu FC.
The win at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, surpasses the 4-1 KCCA FC subjected Onduparaka to and URA’s 4-0 win over BUL at Namboole.
Before Saturday game, the champions were coming off a 2-1 defeat at the hands of SC Villa and the manager Mike Mutebi responded perfectly.
Allan ‘Dancing Rasta’ Kateregga didn’t only entertain the fans with his dribbling skills and step overs but was involved in all three goals before the break.
His perfect pinpoint cross from the right with his weaker right foot was headed home by Derrick Nsibambi just after nine minutes.
It was Kateregga who took charge of matters again, going past his marker before his low ground cross was in similar fashion slotted home by Samuel Sekamatte.
It was Sekamatte’s first goal for KCCA FC in his first start of the season and only his second appearance.
Kateregga put the icing on the cake after just 36 minutes, his run from the left and interplay with Sadam Juma saw his low drive hit the post before going in.
Sekamatte was stretched off two minutes to the break after he pulled a muscle and was replaced by Tito Okello.
If the first half belonged to Kateregga, the second was for Kizza to show his might like he has done all season.
The defender cum left wingback assisted Tito’s first and KCCA FC’s fourth, his teasing cross was tapped home by the striker.
Kizza continued to torment Masavu from the left and with 20 minutes left on the clock, he again found Okello, who controlled before shooting past Ali Kiggundu in Masavu’s goal.
The KCCA FC midfield trio of Isaac Kirabira, Muzamir Mutyaba and Sadam Juma was dictating matters and giving the wide players chance to thrive.
Nsibambi was preplaced by Patrick Kaddu, the latter wasn’t going to just make up numbers, in the 85th minute he connected with Kizza’s cross to score a beautiful header.
The win takes KCCA FC to fourth on the 16 team log with 13 points, three behind leaders Police, and the six goals also confirm KCCA FC as the highest scoring team in the league with 15 and just five conceded.
