State House has disowned a circulating letter from President Yoweri Museveni telling off Speaker Rebecca Kadaga in response to letter on ‘strange’ people entering parliament.
In a letter dated 3rd November 2017, Museveni clearly clarifies that Kadaga was aware about what transpired during the September 27 raid on Parliament by plain-clothed security operatives.
Museveni said the speaker is the one who requested him to intervene following the chaotic behavior of MPs opposed to the age limit bill.
However, Don Wanyana the Senior Presidential Press Secretary has termed the circulating letter as fake.
Writing on his Facebook, Wanyama said the letter is a concoction thus asking the general public to disregard it with due contempt it deserves.
He said concerned authorities will get those behind the forged letter and bring them to account.
He wrote;
Apologies to my media friends who have been trying to reach me in vain. I am unwell and was far off the phone.
I gather most of you are inquiring about this letter purportedly written by the President to the Speaker. It is a fake. It is a concoction. Please disregard it with the due contempt it deserves. Concerned authorities will get those behind these forgeries and bring them to account.’
