Two police officers attached to Interpol in Kampala have been arrested by Police’S Professional Standards Unit (PSU) after defrauding a medical doctor of shs300 million.
The arrested security operatives are Edison Bukholi and Chris Musana.
It is alleged that the suspects connived with the relatives of the Namibian based Ugandan Doctor to swindle him of his money.
According to PSU Spokesperson Vincent Sekaate, was arrested by the suspects as he arrived at Mutukula border with three vehicles including two Toyota land cruiser prados and a Fortuner occupied by the doctor’s relatives and he was driven to Interpol in Kampala and threatened.
Ssekate said the two police officers accused the surgeon of working with Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi to engage in subversive activities and money laundering.
“They threatened to put him behind bars and in order to save himself, he gave them the money,” Ssekate said.
