Last week, a group of boda boda riders under their infamous umbrella association known as Boda Boda 2010 went under spotlight after assaulting school children and severely injuring police officers.
The goons who allegedly work closely with police boss Kale Kayihura badly beat up pupils and teachers of Winterland Primary school as well as police officers who were escorting them to perform at the 3rd Annual Community Policing Day which took place at Nkumba University.
The group was accusing the pupils for putting on red ribbon-like clothes on their heads as the anti age limit bill protestors.
After the incident police issued a statement a statement disowning the tormentors, they said they were going to arrest the suspects but up to now they are still on the loose.
Appearing on NBS TV today morning, Boda Boda 2010 leader Abdul Kitatta has denied that his group didn’t beat any child or police officer regardless of the video evidence.
He said the group is just a registered boda boda cyclist association which doesn’t involve itself in such acts.
“No children or police officers were beaten. Boda Boda 2010 is a registered boda boda cyclist association,” he said.
On the issue of working with Gen Kayihura to ‘terrorize’ the public, Kitatta said the police boss is just his good friend and that he doesn’t involve himself in police work.
“IGP Kale Kayihura is a just a friend and there is no way I involve myself in police work,” he asserted.
