State Minister for Works Gen Katumba Wamala has denied to have punched Mityana municipality MP Francis Zaake into coma.
According to Gen Katumba, he had intention to punch the legislator if he continued to act wildly; the punch never caught him as reported.
On Sunday, the four star general told NBS TV in an interview that he warned the legislator against throwing chairs at parliament security and only grabbed Zaake to restrain him.
“I just grabbed him. In fact I was standing with Hon. Winnie Kizza who told me not to beat Zaake and I indeed let him go. He was lucky because if i was to punch him, he would” (laughs) Generals don’t throw one punch,” He said.
However, a video and photo have been making rounds on social media clearly showing Katumba punching Zaake on the head which later led the youthful legislator lose conscious.
On Saturday, Zaake penned down a tough missive pinpointing the army serviceman to have punched him to near death.
Zaake is currently hospitalized at Rubaga Hospital after suffering severe injuries in the head.
