State Minister for Investment Evelyn Anite has insisted on her statement she made yesterday about Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) regarding the age limit controversy.
The minister during a press conference, said as age limit removal agents, they will not be intimidated by any opponent since they have the support of the army.
We don’t go looking for support. We are the party in movement. We have support of the magye (army),”Anite said.
Her statement shocked the entire nation and this also forced the army to come out to distance itself from the minister’s statement saying its non-partisan.
However, today, Anite has further insisted that the army has to protect them as age limit removal agents from opponents since it is their role as mandated in the constitution.
“That is their role given to them by the constitution to protect anyone from being killed,” said Anite.
