Six police officers have been detained by Police’s Professional Standards Unit (PSU) over theft, reports indicate.
Kampala based online news website trumptnews.co.ug says officers including ASP Shepherd Mwesigwa, ASP Harriet Kenyena, D/SGT Anena Beatrice, CPL Opio Alex, Nelson Nuwanmanya , and Joseph Katerega are held behind bars for various offences including misuse of their offices, theft and torture.
Possibly one of the most interesting case involves ASP Mwesigwa who is said to have stolen 71 bags of posho and 35 bags of beans worth sh5.4 million belonging to fellow officers which he obtained from Namanve logistics store and sold them in Fortportal town in Kabarole district.
