Uganda’s reigning female kickboxing champion Patricia Apolot popularly known as ‘The Black Pearl’ is all set to battle with Asma Ali from the Egypt side in the highly anticipated fight dubbed The Clash of the Nile.
The non title fight is scheduled to take place on 9th September, 2017 at Secret Heart Hotel in Kumi.
Addressing the press at Uganda Museum on Tuesday morning, Apolot who was in high spirits said even though her opponent is more experienced than her , she is willing to teach her a lesson she will never forget adding that as a champion she wants to fight with the best thus revealing why she opted for a fight with Asma Ali.
“We the champions want to fight with the best, even though she is more experienced than me, let her come and taste the wrath of the Black Pearl,” Apolot boosted.
Kumi Municipality Member of parliament Aogon Silas, who also graced the conference, said he is very optimistic that Apolot will win the fight thus urging all kickboxing lovers to go to kumi and support the exceptional young female kick boxer.
On 8th September before the fight, Apolot and management will first carry out a charity event at Atutur Hospital in Kumi town with the essence of giving back to the community.
Meanwhile Rose Form and Kaglon Medical Supplies have donated 20 mattresses and sanitary pads worth shs1 million as a contribution for the noble cause.
Patricia Komuntale, the Kaglon Medical Supplies Marketer said Kaglon strives to support women and that is why they came out to support Apolot’s cause of giving back to the community.
“We have donated medicated sanitary pads worth shs1 million and will help the needy women in Kumi,” said Komuntale.
Apolot has 15 professional fights whereby she won all of them whereas her opponent Asma Ali has 25 fights with 18 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses.
Entry fee will be shs20, 000 and shs10,000.
