Kenya supreme court in an unprecedented move cancelled the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta. Judges ruled polls should be conducted in two months.
The bench of seven judges invalidated elected saying the electoral body did not conduct a free and fair election.
This is the first time a court annuls the decision of the electoral body’s decision in Eastern Africa.
There was jubilations in various parts of Kenya as the chief justice read the historical ruling.
The court however said there was wrong doing on President Uhuru Kenyatta side.
Raila Odinga took IEBC and Uhuru Kenyatta to court after the contested August election.
The ruling has strong impact on the security of Kenya and neighbourhood.
