Hope you all remember the ‘heaven sent’ pens that sparked public outcry after it was revealed that Bank of Uganda procured them at shs357,000 each.
Well look no further, today the central bank has presented some of the samples of the magical pens to parliament and the whole public is puzzled to see the kind of pens costing millions of shillings.
Bank of Uganda spent Shs125 million to procure 350 pens at Shs 357,000 each as souvenirs to mark its Golden Jubilee celebrations held in August 2016.
Today, samples of the pens have been presented before the Parliamentary committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).
