Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Gen.Mugisha Muntu has stepped down as the party president in efforts to participate in forthcoming party elections.
The incumbent president has already picked nomination forms to compete for the party’s upcoming election.
Alice Alaso has been appointed as the interim President who will be running daily party activists until the new president is elected.
“Today, I am stepping aside as the party president to compete for the upcoming party presidency and I have already signed a letter delegating my position to my deputy to avoid conflict of interest as the candidate and the party president. If the party members nominate me for the presidency, I am ready for the competition,”he said after picking nomination papers.
‘’whether I win or lose our focus on FDC is to build more party structures so that by 2021 general elections will be able to oust president Museveni regime,” he added.
Muntu is the sixth presidential candidate to pick nominations after Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Dan Malcolm Masiko, Lukubira Moses, Moses Byamugisha and Former MP Patrick Amuriate Oboi.
