The long anticipated waiting is now over as singer Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine swears in as the newly elected Kyadondo East Member of Parliament.
Bobi Wine has taken an oath at the floor of parliament in the presence of fellow MPs and his supporters.
Due to the much excitement, the rules of silence at parliament were not followed and MPs from several political parties warmly welcomed him on board.
Prior to his swearing in, the singer was briefed by the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga how the parliament operates and she also gave him a copy of the 1995 National constitution and rules of parliamentary protocol.
After the inauguration, excited Bobi Wine was asked to guide his supporters back to Kyadondo East to ease congestion in town.
“If the @Parliament_UG doesn’t come to the ghetto, then the ghetto will come to the parliament.” Bobi Wine briefly said.
Later Bobi Wine is going to join his supporters at Kasangati Saza grounds for the victory party celebrations.
