Makerere University Vice Chancellor Search Committee has released partial results indicating the person who is likely to become the next Vice Chancellor for Uganda’s prestigious University out of the three candidates.
In the assessing results Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe is tipped as the institution’s next vice chancellor beating Prof. Edward. K Kirumira and Prof Venansius Baryamureeba who becomes last according to the assessment exercise conducting at different stages.
In the assessment of candidates’ application documents, Nawangwe scored 76.4%, Baryamureeba scored 67.8% whereas Kirumira scored 67.5%.
In face to face interview, Nawangwe scored 79.1%, Kirumira scored 69.8% and Baryamureeba scored 57.6%.
In Public Presentation and Joint Debate, Nawangwe scored 73.4%, Kirumira scored 72.5% and Baryamureeba scored 72.2%.
In the overall assessment results, Nawangwe scored 77%, Kirumira scored 70% whereas Baryamureeba scored 64% thus rendering Nawangwe as the possible next vice Chancellor for Makerere University.
