FUFA Electoral Commission has ruled that Proline Director Mujib Kasule doesn’t qualify to vie for FUFA presidency.
According to the committee headed by Samuel Bakiika, Kasule failed to comply with the guidelines well stipulated in the FUFA Electoral code.
Bakiika told the media during a press conference held on Monday evening that Kasule does not qualify to be nominated for presidency because he failed to fulfill the mandatory requirements requested.
“Aspiring candidate Mujib Kasule was originally supposed to present his full documents on Friday, 16th June 2017 at 2:30 p.m.He came minutes after half past 4 p.m. Because there was no time for scrutiny of the papers presented, we decided to reconvene on Monday, 19thJune 2017. We met for a better part of day until we came up with an unanimous decision by all the members who attended,”
“The aspiring candidate had to be backed by the chairman or CEO from at least three member associations which he did not present. Article 10 (5) – Nominations of candidates shall be made by both the chairman and secretary of the fully subscribed members. Where members are individuals, nominations will be done by fully subscribed members. Article 10 (6) – Subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility prerequisites, a candidate to the office of the FUFA President shall only be valid if supported by any three members of FUFA where one such member is from FUFA Super League Clubs or FUFA Big League, the other being member from special interest groups as defined in article 10 (1) (d-1) of the FUFA Statures and the other member being Regional Football Association.”
Bakiika explained to the media that the Ug.shs 9M nomination fee for Kasule and his 13 man Executive Committee had paid to the bank is non refunded as well spelt in the FUFA Electoral Code of 2012.
Kasule last week vowed to seek legal address once not nominated successfully on Monday.
